Laguna Bakery and Filipino Food: Reviews & Ratings

The food is reasonably priced and they give you good portions - that’s 5 out of 5. I read the reviews maybe it was my lucky day that I didn’t experience rudeness or poor service - that’s 3 out of 5. I ordered pancit (which is only 50 cents more compared to if you got white rice) with 2 entrees: pork sisig and kare kare. The food was good: 4 out of 5. The variety of baked and prepared food was good: they have siopao (steamed buns), pan de sal plain or with butter and sugar), kutsinta, cassava cake… slightly disappointing is their mung bean hopia - looked fresh but the mung bean filling was dry.

Loved the Lil shop. Very clean and friendly staff. I will be back. Can't stop coming back. Even in a power outage they are in good spirits. Whoever says they have bad customer service. Should be ashamed of themselves!!!

I was greeted immediately upon entering the restaurant. The staff is super friendly especially the young lady at the front. It's take out only right now. I ordered a combo with chicken pancit and 3 beef lumpia and 10 vegetable lumpia. The combo was ready within a few minutes, however the vegetable rolls took a little longer. While waiting I decided to order curry chicken with rice. The beef lumpia was absolutely delicious. The pancit was seasoned well, however the chicken is dark meat and was a little dry. I'll just get the pancit with no meat next time. The vegetable lumpia is like spring rolls... they were tasty. The curry chicken was not what I expected...it tasted like chicken and rice with a light flavored gravy with carrots and potatoes. There was a slight vinegary taste.. overall it was okay, I won't order it again. There was a large selection of baked treats that I didn't try this time but will the next I visit. Laguna will be my go to for beef lumpia and veggie pancit. I plan to try more menu items on my next visit.

Tried this place for the first time via Doordash, and I'll have to say this chicken Pancit is the best I have had in years! Absolutely mouthwatering! I also ordered the pork lumping which is smaller than expected but packed full of flavor! I will definitely be ordinary from this place again!!

I found flavortown at Laguna Bakery and Fililino Food. I got curry chicken w/ pancit and vegetables while my bf got chicken adobo with rice. We also ordered 20 pieces of lumpia, 4 BBQ chicken skewers (not pictured), and 1 can of diet coke. All together it came to $40. We have plenty of food for leftovers and everything tasted delicious aside from the pancit which tasted like pure salt. Great food, great value and lovely staff who helped us make selections. In terms of atmosphere, I just wish they had tables for customers to sit at as it got a little messt at our car. We will return!

Welcome to Laguna Bakery and Filipino Food, a hidden gem located in the heart of Virginia Beach. Nestled at 5394 Kemps River Dr #105, this delightful establishment serves up a mouth-watering combination of traditional Filipino dishes and freshly baked goods that truly capture the essence of Filipino cuisine.

As soon as you step through the door, you are greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that resonates with the rich culture of the Philippines. The essence of home cooking emanates from the kitchen, where passionate chefs create dishes that evoke nostalgia and comfort. Whether you're stopping by for a quick takeout or looking to indulge in a feast, Laguna Bakery welcomes you.

One of the highlights of the menu is their pancit, a flavorful noodle dish that deftly combines textures and tastes, making it a staple in Filipino gatherings. Customers rave about its seasoning and generous portion size, often opting for it as a side alongside delectable entrees like pork sisig and the rich, savory kare kare.

The bakery section will leave you equally delighted. From siopao (steamed buns) to the beloved pan de sal served with butter or sugar, there's a variety of treats that will transport you straight to the streets of the Philippines. However, not every item hits the mark; some have noted that the mung bean hopia, while visually appealing, could use more moisture in its filling.

A defining factor of Laguna Bakery is the customer service, often highlighted as friendly and welcoming. Patrons such as Mary-Ann L. and Joy Parker emphasize the cozy and clean atmosphere, along with the helpful staff. This commitment to a pleasant experience makes returning a sweet pleasure for many, as they find joy in not just the food but the ambiance as well.

As I ventured into Laguna Bakery, I was particularly enamored by the beef lumpia. Each roll was perfectly crispy, filled with a savory mixture that had me contemplating grabbing a few more from the takeout window. Many reviews echo similar sentiments, with some finding the portions to be just right for satisfying cravings without breaking the bank.

Overall, Laguna Bakery and Filipino Food stands out as a must-visit destination for anyone craving authentic Filipino cuisine and delectable baked goods. The flavors linger long after the meal, inviting you back for another taste of this culinary treasure. So, if you are in Virginia Beach and ready to embark on a flavor-filled adventure, don’t hesitate to drop by or give them a call at +1 757-366-0704. Your taste buds will thank you!
